Treat Yourself To Afternoon Tea At The Biltmore

The Millennium Biltmore Hotel (506 S Grand Avenue, Los Angeles CA 90071) in downtown Los Angeles is perfect location for nibbling on some delicate finger sandwiches, scones and cream puffs. When it opened in 1923, the Spanish-Italian Renaissance style hotel was the largest hotel west of Chicago.
Step back in time and enjoy a spot of Afternoon Tea, which is now served in the Rendezvous Court, which used to serve as the hotel's lobby.

This area of the hotel may look familiar, as it’s appeared in many movies, as has the rest of the hotel; Chinatown, Beverly Hills Cop, Ghostbusters, Independence Day, Ocean's 11, Wedding Crashers, National Treasure, Spider-Man, and Fight Club to name a few. It's also popped up in plenty of TV shows including: Charlie's Angels, Beverly Hills 90210, Entourage, ER, NYPD Blue, The West Wing, House, and Mad Men. Basically, this hotel has an IMDB list most actors in LA would kill for! Speaking on the look out for ghosts as the hotel is rumored to be haunted by numerous ghosts including Elizabeth Short, better known as The Black Dahlia.

The idea for the Oscars (or Academy awards) was conceived during a luncheon in the Crystal Ballroom held in May 1927, during which MGM art director Cedric Gibbons sketched the design for the Oscar statue on a hotel’s linen napkin. Eight Oscar ceremonies have been held here during the Academy's early years.

Royal Afternoon Tea is served from 2pm till 5pm each weekend and is about $80 per person. Reservations are highly recommended, darling, do book here.
